Hello, I’m Mary Halbrooks

I have a PhD in horticulture and in my former life I was an academic teaching and studying in horticulture. My love of plants has always been a part of my life and in 2016 I started working in specialty coffee. I am a sensory specialist writing reviews of coffees and teaching others how to appreciate specialty coffee.

I offer classes, tasting events and workshops. With me you can learn how to train your palate and explore the attributes that make coffee special. I also offer consulting services to roasters, barista staff and coffee shop owners who need to input and support for their coffee programs.
